报告摘要
Terahertz (THz) wave has the advantage of wide bandwidth, which can support ultra-high-speed communication and high-resolution imaging, making it a strong candidate for beyond-6G application like short-range data backhaul and holography. As a key component in THz systems, high-gain wideband THz antennas are demanded urgently. Transmitarray antenna scan provide the advantages of simple feed, flexible beam control, and simplifed RF chain and fabrication cost, etc., when compared with traditional antennas. For THz transmitarray antennas, the key issues include high-precision fabrication, material characterization in THz band, trade-off design between gain and beamwidth, and multi-band design. Several innovative technologies will be discussed in this talk, especially focused on the design and implementation of THz transmitarray antenna with specific beamwidth, high gain with quasispherical phase front, and shared-aperture dual bands with independent beam control. All the above works are based on the self-developed thin-film process with single or multiple PI substrates.
